ILOS Advisory Group experts provide assistance to State officials (including the military and law enforcement officials), shipping operators and other stakeholders, in understanding the international legal framework applicable to the main maritime security threats, and the legal tools available to deal with these. We also advise States on the strenghtening of their maritime security commitments including through negotiation of, or accession to, relevant instruments, and membership in relevant international organizations and informal groupings (such as the Proliferation Security Initiative).
